Let’s be real, wedding florals are a big part of the magic. They’re what set the mood, soften the space, and bring those “wow” moments and photo oppurtunities to life. But what if your flowers could do double (or triple!) duty? At Wild Lilac, we’re all about dreamy flowers and smart planning, so here’s how to make them work best for you and stretch your floral budget without sacrificing style.

1. Repurpose Your Ceremony Flowers
Your ceremony flowers deserve more than just 30 minutes of fame. Just a bit of clever repurposing can make them work for the whole day!
Arches and moongate style backdrops - We understand, these are a massive budget stretcher, but if they are frestanding it means you can pop them behind your top table for your wedding breakfast and then use them in the evening to create a unique backdrop for your photo booth - hello, triple value!
Floor standing aisle arrangements, or meadow-style florals can easily be moved to your reception. If they're on raised pillars then place them behind or at the side of your top table. If they're floor standing then put them in front. In the evening, move them to the bar area, to the main entrance to greet your evening guests, or use them beside your gifting/guestbook table
Ceremony table arrangements - move these to your top table to get double the amount of pics for the same price.

2. Bridesmaid Bouquets Turned Table Décor
After the ceremony, those gorgeous bridesmaid bouquets don’t need to be left on a table to wilt in the heat. Hire some vases from your florist or stylist and place them in the bar area, on the cake table, the guestbook table, wherever you like really. It’s an effortless way to fill your space with more blooms without increasing your flower order.
To really make them work hard, use them as guest table centrepieces for the wedding breakfast. Pair with a couple of candles and a table runner, et voila!
Don't forget to hire a vase for your bouquet too. You've paid a small fortune for it remember, you need it to look its best all day! Pop it on the gift table and it will still be looking 10/10 when your evening guests arrives
(extra tip: Keeping your florals in water is especially important if you want to send them to be preserved after the wedding as they need to be as fresh as possible when they arrive).
3. Bud vases - Pop 'em Everywhere!
Bud vase arrangements can be the ultimate workhorse of the wedding day! Great on the ceremony table or stood in groups down the aisle for the ceremony, then move 'em to the top table and the guest tables for the wedding breakfast - either on their own or to add to other, larger arrsngments. Once the tables are cleared away for the evening? Move them to the bar, the gifting table, they look great on windowsills, on fireplaces, even to make the toilets look fancy. Spread 'em everywhere to make your floral investment work hard!

4. A Flower-Filled Exit
If your installations are still going strong at the end of the night, then bring them along for your exit/outdoor photos (and your bouquet too!). A floral-farewell moment under sparklers? Yes please.
5. Sustainable Send-Offs
Instead of letting blooms go to waste the morning after, consider giving them away as gifts to family that have helped out with the big day. If you purchase your own vases rather than hiring them then bouquets or bud vases can be given away at the end of the night. If your florist (that’s us 👋) is returning the following morning to collect some items then ask them about bundling up flowers from larger designs into small posies to give away. You've paid for them after all!

6. Invest well in statement pieces
Yes, a hanging flower cloud looks amazing above your aisle, but unless your sitting under it all day, it isn't going to give bang for your buck! We all wish that we could afford an installation in every room but if you want floral impact and need to be mindful of your budget then invest in one or two lush focal arrangements that can move with the party. It’s all about choosing designs that are sturdy, transportable, and look good wherever they land. And I always feel it's better to spend on one impactful piece that everyone will want a picture with rather than spreading small arrangements thinly accross the venue.

7. Planning is key.
Before your wedding, speak to your florist, stylist and venue to arrange what's going where, if it's being moved, where to and at what point of the day. This will ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes and your day looks effortlessly beautiful from start to finish. With a solid plan in place, your flowers can shine in every setting without you ever having to lift a finger (except maybe to hold that bouquet just right).
With some clever planning and a florist who’s got your back (hi again 👋), your blooms can bring joy from aisle to reception and beyond.
